About Chip McCain

Chip was born in Tampa Florida, and took an early interest in music. By the age of 13 he was playing many instruments, including drums, and took the nightclub stage, for the first time, with P.F. Flyer, a well known local high energy rock 'n' roll show band. He worked with several groups, over the next few years, when in 1981, he took a job, as the Light/Sound tech, for the artist Wayne Hand, A very successful regionally known country-dance group. In 1983, Chip returned to the stage as a keyboardist for Charter Oak, A top 40 variety dance band from Charlotte North Carolina. Chip moved to Nashville Tennessee in 1987, where he had the good fortune of Landing a job, at Opry Land, with a Delta Gospel Blues review, and played nights with a local heavy metal act, called The Living Legends. He soon joinined an original high energy Country group, Dixie Grey, which had the honor of opening for many recording artist such as The forester Sisters, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Mel Tillis. Chip has also enjoyed sharing the stage with such artist as Travis Tritt, Patty Loveless, Conway Twitty, and others.

In 1993 Chip move to Alabama, where he worked with many of the top cover bands in the area, which covered the full spectrum of music genres, till 1996, Chip started his single act in Birmingham. Ever since, Chip has been delighting and pleasing crowds all over the Southeast region with his unique style of charm and entertainment. Chip has had the pleasure of playing in some of the best venues in town. Some include a two year hitch at, Norm's, a former landmark on the Birmingham night scene and one of Birmingham's most popular hot spots, four years at, Bahama Breeze, a national Caribbean cuisine restaurant chain, four years at, Sarris' Seafood and Steak House, one of Birmingham's most successful family owned restaurants, and many others.

Chip believes that his customer base is just as important as the venue he is playing. Through a large patron database, consisting of e-mail, phone numbers, and mailing addresses, Chip stays in constant contact with his followers. Whether it be his monthly newsletter, frequent website updates, or just a friendly phone call, he knows that his customers are a large part of his show, and never misses an opportunity to let them know how much they are appreciated.

However, Chip's not only about music! With his zest for life, and his love for family, and community, Chip involves him self in many other projects and activities. Chip is not only a member of the National Federation For The Blind, and The Loyal Order of Moose, but donates a great deal of his free time to many other worthwhile civic and charitable causes. Heading up a recent, (Support Our Troops,) fund raiser for a local VFW post, participating in the Stars Behind Bars Fund Raiser for Muscular Dystrophy, taking an active roll in an Alabama Kidney Foundation benefit, providing entertainment for many other community and Non-Profit events are just a few examples of Chip's tireless commitment to make the world around him a better place. .
