noteChip's News for Friday, April 11, 2008note

Hey Gang,
Well it's been a while since I've last emailed, or posted any news, and I apologize for that. It's been crazy around here lately due to working on a very important project, which I'll tell you about in a future email, and I've also been doing a lot of private parties, but I'm back in the saddle now, and will be keeping you up-to-date more often. So with that said, on with the news!

Let me tell you about Allstars!
Allstars Sports Grill
242 Forest Rd
Hueytown, AL 35023
(205) 744-star (7827)
Here's a map
This is with out a doubt Hueytown's best kept secret. I mean I love this place. Great atmosphere, friendly folks, terrific food, and Melissa and the gang are a pleasure to work with, and I know you'll have a blast. I hope to make this a regular Saturday night happening, and you can help by showing up this Saturday night, and showing your support. Chef Mike tells me that this Saturday night's featured dish is New Orleans Style Red Bean's and Rice with New Orleans Potato Salad. (Can you say . . . YUMM!) I'll start around 8:00, but get there early for some great food, and I'll be there early to catch up with all of you that I haven't seen in so long, and word has it that Turk The Wonder Dog will be there as well.

Having a private party or event?
I'm still booking your private parties and events, but now you can experience a double shot of that McCain talent and charm. My cousin Tim and I have hooked up to offer you a show like no other in Birmingham. Tim is a gifted drummer and acoustic guitar player, as well as sings like a bird' to top it all off he's a very witty guy, and an energetic showman. So now when you think of your next party, and want something more than just a single act, think of M&M for your live entertainment needs. We are also able to put together any size group you may need, from a duo all the way up to a 12 piece band. Just contact me, and you'll see why you need to look no farther, for the absolute best in live entertainment.

Hey Gang, I want to invite everyone out to the Kelly Ingram VFW Post 668, located at 1801 11th Ave. N downtown, this coming Sunday, March 5, for a special send off/jam session. The festivities start at 4:00pm. "What festivities?" Glad you asked. Your truely is headed to Fort Worth, Monday March 6th, and we all thought it would be neat to have a little get together, with all my friends and fellow musicians, before leaving, so if there's anyway you can make it, be sure and come.

A Few Changes

As most of you know, I've been doing a duo with Johnny Click for the past several months, so news from this site has slowed, and has been coming from our duo site. However, there has been some changes, and some exciting others coming, so stay tuned and read on.

Contacting Me!
Because spam harvester's had gotten a hold of my email off the pages on this website, I have been forced to quit displaying it or providing a link to directly email me. Farthermore, any time there arises a need to display my email, you will se it in this format. "*chip(at symbol)chipmccain.com*". Additionally, due to a spammer attack on our server our contact form has been temporaryly suspended till I can institute a more secure script to handle the contact request.

Chip McCain On Stage!
Due to a lot of ISP's automatically blocking any emails with news in the address or subject fields, a lot of you had stopped receiving my newsletter, so to keep that from happening any longer the news letter is now called "Chip McCain On Stage," and will originate from my regular email address of "*chip(at symbol)chipmccain.com*". If you still feel like the newsletter is being blocked or sent to a junk/spam folder, just add my email to your address book, and that should take care of it.

THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN!
Only 13 days left!

Johnny and I want to thank every one that came out Tuesday night for making our night a big success. As a result, we will be at The Mellow Martini, on Tuesday nights, for at least the next few weeks. Be sure and tell every one you know, and we want to see all of you there again next week to party with us again. It was a blast, and we both say that you guys are the best fans in Birmingham!

We took a boat load of photos the other night, and they are now available for viewing on the web site. We got some great shots so check them out here. We plan on taking more next week so be there and be seen. If any of you guys took any photos be sure and email them to me, so they too can be added to the album. I know I speak for every one when I say we for sure want to see them. grin

Running for now. I've got a lot of work to do, before Tuesday, to get ready for the show. We got several new tunes in the works, and re-working a lot of your favorites. Johnny too has his nose to the ole' musical grind stone, and we promise even a better show next week than you saw this one, so be sure not to miss it!

Chip's News for Sunday, August 07, 2005

Hey every one,

It sure has been a while since I have put out any type of mailing, and a lot of you probably wonder what's been going on. Well actually there's been a lot, so grab a cup of coffee and let's get started.

Site Changes!

First things first. I've done a complete re-design of the site. Now, to the human eye it's going to look the same, but all the code has been updated to XHTML 1.0 standard. Now that doesn't me a lot to most of you, but in the background it means that all the pages have been brought up to new web standards, and is going to make it a lot easier to add new web functions to the site as they are developed. Navigation has been made easier, and as more multimedia content is added everyone's browsers will be more able to handle the changes. For example, even the way this news letter is handled and sent has been completely re-vamped. Speaking of the news letter, the mailing list had to be completely re-built, so there may be some of you on the list that rather not receive it. I used the contacts out of my address book, so There's a link at the bottom of this message that will allow those of you that wish to unsubscribe to do so. Be sure to take a look at the website, and let me know if you see any cosmetic errors. After all, I'm depending on you guys to catch the things that obviously I can't see.

New photos!

I've added a ton of new photos. About 20 new folders, containing around 1000 new pics, in fact. There's photos of recent birthday's, events, benefits, and more. One that I want everyone to be sure and check out is the addition of Kens_Photos. Our friend Ken, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, has sent me some way too cool pics of the recent space shuttle launch, as well as a couple of other neat pictures. Thanks Ken. Keep em comin'. As he sends more I'll add them to his folder.

Congratulations!

Our friends, Barrie and Penny, from Liverpool England are the proud new grand parents of a beautiful little girl. Barrie has sent a photo of the bouncing new arrival, and you can see her here. I'm not going to publish their email address, but you can go to the contact form on the site and choose their name for the drop down list and email them giving your congrats.

The Important Stuff!

Not that any of the previous is less important, but I've got some exciting news to tell everyone that you surely are not going to want to miss. Johnny Click and I are going to be doing a duo. That's right! Birmingham's favorite and top two entertainers, The legendary Johnny Click and Chip McCain are joining forces to bring you absolutely the best in entertainment that Birmingham has to offer. Our first show is going to be this coming Tuesday night, and am sure none of you, that are in town that is, are going to want to miss it. "Hey Chip! Where's it going to be?" I'm glad you asked. We will be at the Mellow Martini, formerly Sazarac out on 280. Show time starts at 8:00, so be sure and tell everyone you know, and make a point to join us. You don't want to miss all the fun and excitement the night is surely going to offer.

Alright boyz & girlz that's about all for this edition, but there's a lot of cool things still to come. Watch out for the launch of the new Johnny Click and Chip McCain website, domain name to be announced. We will have all new photos of him and me, e-cards, sound clips and more. Take care, and I hope this finds each and every one of you well.

The News

Sunday, August 15, 2004
Just a quick note to let everyone I'm still around. Not much to report this month, so I'll keep it short. I'm still at Sarris' on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and Attitudes Monday and Tuesdays. We are still doing the Beach night on Tuesday at Attitudes, so you all need to put on your swim suits and backstroke it on down. I do want to mention that I have started a new website aim at my friends and family . . . "THIS MEANS YOU!" You can find it at http://bridginthegap.com and I hope all of you will visit and join. It cost nothing to register so there's no excuse. I'm going to run, so all of you take care and hope to see you out soon. P.S. for all you Birmingham residents, thank all of you that have come out to support me lately and shame on those of you that haven't(BG) Oh and btw, my buddy and good friend, Johnny Click, and the boys are at Attitudes on Wendsday, Friday and Saturday nights, so if you can't make it out to see me, go see them. Remember, a musicians success is measured by the amount of their support group.

Friday, June 18, 2004

I want to thank every one of you that came out and joined me at George Sarris' new place last week. You made my first week of being back home a great home coming. As it turned out, over fifty of you showed up to support me those first three nights. I'm so glad to be back in town, and look forward to seeing more of you guys in the future. I didn't realize that it had been nearly a year since I'd seen most of you, and I can't tell you how much it means to me that you haven't forgotten me. You guys are the greatest!

Monday May 12, 2003

There isn't a lot to report this week, so I'll try and keep it short. I want to thank everyone that came out last week to see me, and let you know that I really appreciate it. Your support means a lot to me, and you guys are the greatest. Every Wednesday, for the rest of May, I will be at ParkLane in Mountain Brook from 5pm till 8pm. I hope those of you that haven't made it out in a while will take the chance to come see me. It is located in the former Arman's At ParkLane, 2117 Cahaba Rd Mountain Brook, AL 35223,and the phone number is (205) 871-5551. Of course, I'll be at Bahama Breeze Sunday and Tuesday, and East City Grill Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

I've temporarily taken my photos off the site. Ben pointed out to me that some of them were upside down. I told him that I had probably had a little much to drink that night, and was playing while standing on my head, but he assured me that it was just the pic. I'll put them back up as soon as I get a chance to go through them and get the straighten out. My friend from England, Barrie, sent me a couple of his tunes, and they are great. I'll be posting them on the site soon. That is if I get Barrie's permission. Don Helms has written some really good tunes as well, which I'll be uploading also. Jim and Jeanenne Morrow have just installed a cool gazebo by their pool and their pic will be up on the site tomorrow.

I want to Congratulate Tom and Stacey McMullen on their wedding on April 26, in Jamaica. I went down to lovely Lake Martin and played their reception over the weekend, and had a great time. I hope you two the best, and hope to here from you soon. I'll be posting pictures of the event on the website as soon as I get some of them. Tim and Viki McCain were also married on the 26th of April. Their ceremony was held in New Orleans, and I'll be posting pictures of their event soon as well. Congratulations.

Birthdays this month:
Joey Wood – May 5
Tim McCain – May 24

Happy Birthday dudes.

Monday, April 21, 2003

I want to thank every one that was able to show up for the fund raising benefit at Kelly Ingram VFW Post 668 on Sunday the 13th. It was a huge success. The final numbers are in, and we were able to raise $3,460 and gave away $1,180 worth of door prizes. All the bands sounded great, and I want to say thanks to Roger and the guys from Main Street for showing up. You guys always sound great and Sunday night was no exception. There was also Jim Boley and NightRiders, Boogie Junction, which both bands sounded great as well, and and of course Jeff Lopez played with everybody including me. Jeff, you're an awesome player and we appreciate you dude. I'm working on getting a copy of my interview with Channel 42 News, and will post it on the website as soon as I do.

I started at East City Grill last week, and had a great reception. Ben, Laurie, Misy, Jim, Jeneane, Stan, Don and Oma all came out to help me make the first week feel right at home. Thanks guys and gals! Starting this week they will be having Ladies Night on Wednesday's, and Ladies meals will be 50% off. For the time being I'm working Thursday 9 to 12, Friday and Saturday 9 to 1, but will be adding Wednesday's soon. Be sure to come and check this place out. It's really a cool little room and the staff is great.

This month sees Kay House and Louise Eady having birthdays. Happy Birthday ladies and may you have many many more, although we'll never know how many you have had already. You both still look like teenagers. Every one be sure and visit the site and add your birthday's to the calendar, or send it to me and I'll post it, so we can keep up, and wish you a happy birthday.

Tuesday: Bahama Breeze 5:30pm – 10:30pm
Thursday: East City Grill 9:00pm – 12:00am
Friday: East City Grill 9:00pm – 1:00am
Saturday: East City Grill 9:00pm – 1:00am

Friday, April 11, 2003 I want to first thank the new additions to the list, it's good to have you around. Also, all of you that have either written or called me with your support, and wanting to know what I was going to do after Sarris. It meant a lot to me, and I want to say thanks. But, I guess two weeks off is enough for any one, and I'm no different. I did enjoy the time off however, and I was able to actually get a new demo out, not to mention catch up on some much needed rest. I've uploaded 7 new tunes on the site, so any of you that would like to, may go there and take a listen, download them or just tell me how bad they are, . . **This Means You Ben Wattson!!!** I'll be going back to work Thursday April 17th at East City Grill. It's located in the new section of Brookwood Village, and seems to be a pretty cool place. I'll be there Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 till 1. I hope all of you that can make it Thursday will show up for moral support. I'll be the first entertainer they've had, so the pressures on so to speak. I look forward to seeing as many of you there who can make it. Their address and phone is: EAST CITY GRILL (205) 414-6005 587 BROOKWOOD VLG HOMEWOOD, AL 35209 In the meantime, I will be at G again tomorrow night. For those of you that didn't get to come out and see me last week there, we had a great time. The staff there was refreshing and very upbeat. I'll start there at 6 and play till 10. I like this little place. It's about time we had a nice evening restaurant downtown again. It looks as though I'll still play there on Saturdays even after next week. The hours will just move from 6/10 to 6/8. I'll know more after tomorrow night. G (205) 323-1820 1820 4TH AV N BIRMINGHAM, AL 35203 And of course, you can still find me at the Bahama Breeze, out on 280, on Sundays and Tuesdays from 5:30 to 10:30. The weather has finally warmed up enough for us to move back outside to the patio. Last but not least! We have the big (Support Our VFW) shindig at the Kelly Ingram VFW post downtown on Sunday. The patriotic ceremony starts at 6 and will be followed by the bands at 6:30 or 7:00. Jim Boley and NightRiders will start the night, followed by Johnny Click. Main Street will play after Johnny and then yours truly will be playing at 9:30 or 10:00. This is one show that every one needs to try and make. I know we have several vets on the list and I hope you all make it. I know I want to say thank you to Ken Haughton, Jim Marrow, Tyler, Linda, Web, Gregg and the rest of you vets on the list. It is time we all tell the men and women who put their life in harms way so each and every one of us can be free. Oh and by the way Thank you Barrie. Barrie is a keyboard player in Engladwhom I've met, , and receives this mailing. , and lives in EngladI've since learned from him that he has seen his share of time inside a British tank. Our hat is off to you as well my friend and all of your fellow countrymen fighting in the war along side ours. I'm going to run for now. I was interrupted several times trying to get this out this evening, and it took longer than I'd planned. Every one take care, and I hope to see all of you very soon. Chip
